For Ames residents interested in learning more about water conservation, reducing electric consumption, Energy Star appliances, low impact landscaping, shrinking their carbon footprint, getting involved in environmental issues, and more, the annual Eco Fair has the answers! From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 4, the Community Center Gymnasium, 515 Clark Ave., will be filled with booths, vendors, activities, and displays focusing on how residents can reduce, reuse, and recycle.
The Eco Fair promises an exciting, educational, and fun experience for all ages! Participants will have the opportunity to talk with City of Ames staff, interact with vendors, and learn about energy-saving products and services. The Eco Fair provides one-stop shopping for all types of conservation materials, vendor information, and energy-saving tips. Additionally, the event provides a broad array of conservation information including displays about the City of Ames’ Eco Smart programs, which include electricity, water, watershed, transportation, housing, and trash. Vendors and organizations from around the community and Iowa State University will be participating in the event.
