Iowa State Fair 2023

This Sunday, Team Neutrino participated in the 2023 Iowa State Fair! We helped volunteer for Blue Origin, an aerospace manufacturer with the goal of having people living and working in space, and reached out to over 480 people. We also volunteered at the FRC stand and demonstrated our robot Scorpius, reaching out to more than 100 people. We had a great time at the state fair and look forward to next year’s fair!

RAGBRAI 2023

On July 25th, we held an outreach stand for RAGBRAI or Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa, a non-competitive bicycle tour across Iowa. During the event, we displayed our robot Scorpius and explained to the riders about the team. Beyond the technical aspect, we also fundraised by offering food and beverages to the riders. We also splashed riders with water to help them beat the summer heat. We look forward to continue inspiring and reaching out to the community!

4th of July Parade 2023

This year, Team Neutrino attended the 4th of July Parade in downtown Ames. It was a great experience to reach out to the community and showcase our robot. Our team members had a great time handing out candy to over a hundred spectators. In addition, we were accompanied by FTC Team Photon who showcased their own robot alongside our robot Scorpius. Thank you to all those who attended and we are excited to attend next year’s parade as well!

Upcoming Events

As we kick off this year’s summer offseason, we would like to mention some upcoming opportunites that will be offered throughout the summer.

We will provide training camps to teach the fundamental principles of each subteam, providing an introduction and overview of what the subteam does. Each training camp is 2-5 days long and requires no previous knowledge, so everyone is welcome.

In addition, we will be meeting with our sponsors for sponsor visits this summer. These interactions will provide valuable networking opportunities for our members, enabling them to connect with our esteemed sponsors and teaching them how to foster connections in a professional environment.

Our seasoned members will also have the opportunity to embark on advanced mechanical and controls projects. These projects are for returning members or members who have experience in that subteam, and will be focusing on challenging projects to help further prepare them for next season.

Lastly, we will be involved in lots of outreach events. By actively engaging with our community, we hope to foster a passion for STEM and have an impact on the community.

Stay connected with us through our team website and social media channels to stay informed about these exciting summer events.
